Position Summary:
Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, production equipment, systems and other physical structures.
Position Requirements:
- Maintains Structures including, Painting, dry walling, masonry work, plumbing fixtures, woodworking, electrical systems and fixtures.
- Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, production equipment & systems
- Makes repairs to tools and equipment using hand and power tools/machinery.
- Measures, cuts, bonds, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
- Ensures tools and equipment are maintained and repaired.
- Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
- Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies.
- Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. Prepares technical reports to document preventative maintenance issues.
- Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required.
- Assists in developing methods and procedures to improve production/facility efficiency and work flow.
- Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Technical school or an applicable skilled trades program a plus
- Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years industrial maintenance experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
- Flexibility to work hours needed for special projects or emergency breakdowns.
- Basic understanding or training in Lean Manufacturing principles
- Work with little to no supervision on basic issues and routine problems, assists with complex issues.
- Experience in furniture manufacturing materials including wood, foam, fabrics and sewing would be helpful
- Have a working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical (110V, 220V, 440V and 3 phase) systems, light metal fabrication.
- Maintains a beginning and working knowledge of PLC operation & programming
- Basic computer skills; internet search, email, file storage etc.
- Use of basic measurement equipment; tape measures, calipers, dial indicators
- The ability to read, understand and follow drawings, instructions and machine manuals

Physical Demands:
This work requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, standing for long periods of time, walking, and lifting 60 lbs. or less, use of ladders and powered lifts such as boom or scissor lifts to perform work at heights. May require occasional heavy lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The ability to distinguish colors is required to perform electrical work. The work is performed primarily indoors but may require outside work in all types of weather.
