Looking for Technicians in the Salt Lake City, UT or Denver, Co area!

The Product Service Technician will be responsible for completing warranty service requests on all products produced by Sauder Manufacturing Co. under the Wieland, Sauder Education, Sauder Worship, and Sauder Manufacturing brand names. 

 

  • Travel 3-6 days a week
  • Read maps and travel alone.
  • Investigate claims and determine appropriate remedy or repair.
  • Perform repairs on the full range of Sauder Manufacturing’s products on site, including hospital patient rooms, waiting rooms, residence halls, churches, etc.
  • Work with Sales Representatives to restore and maintain the good will of the Wieland, Sauder Education, and Sauder Worship brands with our customers and dealers.
  • Resolve conflict with customers and reps in a positive manner.
  • Interact positively with all levels of management within the company as well as within the customer’s facility to diagnose and resolve claims in a cost effective manner.
  • Work with little or no supervision and represent the company in a positive manner.
  • Assist in answering phone calls, responding to emails and entering orders.
  • Work with engineering to address any issues that are discovered in the field.
  • Work with manufacturing to gain a thorough knowledge of products when not on the road.
  • Perform any other project assigned by the person to whom you report.
  • Work flexible hours and over-time with little or no notice.
  • For remote positions it will require a small storage unit; cost will be covered by Sauder Manufacturing Co.

 

Experience and Knowledge Required:

 

  • High School Diploma.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including both written and verbal.
  • Prior experience with Sauder Manufacturing product assembly a plus.
  • Strong hands on mechanical skills — skilled with use of hand and power tools.
  • Able to repeatedly lift up to 75 lbs. from the floor to table height.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Strong problem solving skills: able to think on one’s feet, adapt, improvise and work through difficulties.
  • Basic computer skills, especially with Outlook, Excel and Word. HFA a plus.
  • Ability to read maps, GPS, airline reservations, navigation skills, etc.
  • Ability to make hotel, flight, rental car reservations when necessary.
  • Current immunization shots required to meet hospital policies: Flu, Hepatitis B, TB, MMR, Meningitis, Tetanus, Chickenpox, Covid-19, etc.

Physical Demands:

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This work requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, standing for long periods of time, walking, lifting 75 pounds repeatedly or less to table height. May require occasional heavy lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors. Work in a manner consistent with standard Sauder safety practices and expectations.  The employee also must be able to drive in vehicles for extended periods of time, be physically able to move heavy furniture repeatedly, and have finger coordination to complete delicate repairs.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment

 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Encompasses the full spectrum from factory floor, office environment, travel, and customer facilities. The noise levels in these work environments are usually low to moderate. Personal protective equipment such as eye, ear, and hand protection may be required in various applications. Exposure to dust, and dirt.  A majority of time is spent traveling and being on site at customer facilities.
