Purpose

The National Sales Director role is accountable for leading the Moran Foods Wholesale team to expand the sales of Moran foods portfolio of brands to both domestically and internationally. Develop and maintain sales and margin strategies, customer relationships, marketing program and logistics solutions to hit financial goals provided by executive management. The role is responsible for supporting a multi-billion-dollar P&L and will have direct responsibility for Wholesale Sales and Margin, Inventory, Quality, and overall Customer Experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Executive team to create a vision for the wholesale division.
  • Develops and executes strategies and financial plans to expand the sale of Moran Foods Brands outside the current portfolio of Save a Lot License store.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop resources needed to support the sale of Moran Foods Brands
  • Develops and executes specific strategies for fast, efficient product movement from the vendor to the customer.  Implements these strategies in the context of the company’s overall plan to optimize the integrated supply chain, enabling business improvement in the areas of availability, cost, inventory, turns, COGS, quality, and speed to market.
  • Builds the collective and individual capabilities required of the Wholesale team and leadership to design and execute these strategies, policies, procedures and transformation programs. 
  • Ensures a high performing Wholesale organization through attracting, developing, and retaining the best talent possible within the function throughout the organization.
  • Creates an environment which clearly translates the business strategy and objective into a culture of agility, continuous improvement, delivery of results and change management.
  • Interfaces with multiple internal and external departments including Distribution, Logistics, Inventory, Retail Partners, Retail Ops and Finance to align on assumptions and implications for supply chain and distribution optimization.
  • Introduces appropriate KPIs and broader analytics within our systems via dashboards and metrics to measure performance against commitments and actively use results to redirect resources as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics or similar field.
  • 7+ years related experience and possesses a demonstrated track record of success in leading a complex, multi-channel sales or wholesale organization.
  • Senior Management level experience in Sales, Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Buying, Procurement etc.
  • Significant experience in a consumer goods environment is highly preferable.
  • Superior interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and approach.
  • Laser-focus on quality, availability, service and cost.
  • Experience in developing a strategic plan that aligns with the corporate strategies and the ability to clearly articulate such a vision.
  • Proven competencies in driving operational excellence across the organization, with measurable financial, quality, and cycle time improvement and a clear understanding of the linkages in supply chain from demand planning through delivery to the customer.
  • Proven experience in using data (KPIs) in a measurable way to achieve a specific strategic result that is relevant to the organization.  
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to develop, measure and improve operational, financial, quality and cycle time performance indicators.
  • Successful track record in working with and through strategic suppliers to drive operational improvement and reduce both cycle time and cost while maintaining overall high quality.

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel as needed, which may include weekends and evenings.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time to tour Distribution Centers
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
