Purpose

This position provides insights to enable strategic pricing tactics, optimizes our commercial performance, and enables our data development team. Responsible for working cross-functionally with other leaders in Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and Store Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing advanced forward-thinking pricing strategies that optimize topline sales and margin in an ever-changing competitive landscape
  • Develop deep understanding of financial levers including sales, markdowns, funding, and profitability
  • Leverage internal/external pricing and market research to track and asses go to market strategies across customer segments
  • Continually evaluate competitors and marketplace dynamics to assess the impact on our business
  • Track key business metrics (e.g., Sales, share, value perception, margin, traffic)
  • Develop hypothesis driven, ad hoc analyses leading to action-based plans
  • Manage the cadence of regular reporting and help communicate informed recommendations 
  • Serve as a thought partner and liaison with key stakeholders, proactively identifying and communicating business issues and sharing best practices
  • Generate ad hoc reporting and present to line manager

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree a plus) in Business, Mathematics, Economics or Finance
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred in retail, consumer packaged goods
  • Preferred work experience in business analysis and strategic development
  • Possess ability to analyze, interpret, and report financial data
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize facts and insights into concrete and actionable recommendations
  • Fast learner with ability to adapt to change quickly and ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter who can work well within various situations (from well-defined to unstructured) and proactively identify business improvement areas
  • Ability to manage competing priorities

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as needed
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
