Street Sweeper Lead (CDL) - Street Sweeping

Job Summary: 

SCA maintains of fleet of sweepers, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, attenuators, and various other support equipment. We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.

We are looking for a Lead CDL Driver with dispatching experience who will be responsible for ensuring their team has all required information to be successful during their shift and driving a Broom Sweeper Truck, providing prompt service to customers assigned to daily scheduled routes, including but not limited to new housing developments, contractors, municipalities, and road construction contractors, etc.

Position Hours:Sunday – Thursday 7PM – 5AM, Saturdays may be required at times

Rate of Pay: Starting rate is $24 per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities: 

• Perform the required inspection of the Broom Sweeper, prior to and after operating the equipment, utilizing Fleetio system.
• Have the ability to troubleshoot possible mechanical issues during operation.
• Wear proper and required PPE.
• Review scheduled routes assigned.
• Perform the safe operation of a Broom Sweeper.  
• Complete assigned job(s) in the time allotted in the most efficient and effective way.
• Maintain quality of work  
• Track completed tasks and/or routes (sweep validation per procedures)  
• Report any equipment failures, near misses, or accidents to the Supervisor within 15 minutes.
• Refuel at the end of the shift prior to returning to the shop.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Requirements:   

• Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class B with Airbrake endorsement.
• Valid DOT medical card. 
• 2+ years of Safety Focused experience required
• 2+ years of Management experience highly preferred
• Basic Mechanic experience preferred (any level)
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience closely related to the field of work. 
• Requires work performed in outdoor environments.
• Exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions.
• Exposure to noise, vibrations, jarring, fumes grease oil & chemicals.
• Active, physical work involving occasionally; lifting (50+ lbs.), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and reaching. Frequently, walking, standing, driving, and operating equipment for extended periods of time. 
• Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, and clear close & distant vision. Use of ear, eye, and other safety equipment. 
• Requires regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. 
• Requires regular use of eyes, shoulders & neck to monitor vehicle mirrors & backup camera.
