PURPOSE
Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Senior Accountant is expected to process accounts payable, expenses and other general accounting work for our group companies. The Senior Accountant must be an outstanding communicator with strong attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead monthly and annual financial close process, ensuring all costs incurred are properly accrued and recorded, including the preparation of journal entries and account balance reconciliations.
- Preparation of internal financial statements for specific entities.
- Assist with preparation of monthly management reporting packages; perform a preliminary review on financial statements and investigate any exceptional situations and resolve the issues; analyze and compare financial results to historical data and budget targets.
- Manage the monthly posting of all journal entries, inter-company billing and associated eliminations.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure that AR and AP functions are performed accurately and on time.
- Review and manage key balance sheet reconciliation process and reporting.
- Record and track fixed assets, record depreciation, and account for the disposition of fixed assets.
- Participate in year-end closing, prepare year end external audit schedules, and respond to various queries and requests from external auditors.
- Process weekly EFT/Wire/ACH payments to vendors.
- Support annual budget and forecasting processes.
- Provide leadership and management of the accounting team to ensure that individual growth, continuous improvement, and total quality applications are realized.
- Preform other special projects as needed and provide support to the finance team.

SKILLS
- Professional Services industry experience a definite asset.
- Previous experience working in a marketing agency a definite asset.
- Ability to work closely within a small local team and a large and diverse global team.
- Enjoys fast-paced work environment; able to multi-task while working with tight deadlines. Demonstrate initiative and a high degree of accuracy in executing tasks.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel) and other Windows applications Excellent interpersonal, client service and communications skills (verbal and written)
- Flexibility of hours to accommodate business needs (i.e., month end, yearend, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- CPA completed or final year with at least 5 years or over related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian ASPE and financial statement disclosure.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cash management, and financial analysis processes.
- Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment.
- Possesses excellent interpersonal skills- must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally to all levels of the organization.
- Previous experience working with Salesforce, Financial Force and QuickBooks would be a definite asset.
- Experience managing Finance staff.
