The College of Health Professions invites applications for a non-tenure track visiting faculty position in the Healthcare Informatics Program (MSHI). This is a 10-month visiting position for Spring 2024 with renewal consideration for AY24-25 based on enrollment and performance. Primary teaching responsibilities would be in the Master of Healthcare Informatics programThis is an in-person/on campus teaching opportunity.

Duties of this position:

  • Collaborate with the Chair as assigned, in the development and implementation of appropriate program structures including program mission, philosophy, and curriculum design, and policies and procedures.
  • Provide high quality service to students.
  • Teach in agreed upon content areas of the MSHI curriculum.
  • Serve as an articulate advocate with the University and in the public arena to advance the MSHI major and recruit students.
  • Demonstrate leadership through work in local health care community agencies and organizations to promote a reputation for excellence.
  • Promote high standards of performance in teaching, service, and scholarly activity
  • Foster interdisciplinary and collaborative activities at major, program, college and university levels.
  • Uphold the University's Mission, the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, and the University's Common Core curriculum in teaching and curricular design activities.
  • Advise students regarding their unique educational goals.

 

Requirements:

  • Terminal degree in a health profession and/or Doctoral preparation in that health profession or related field
  • Teaching experience in higher education.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience and expertise in healthcare informatics or closely related profession.
  • Ability to actively promote a collegial environment and consciously apply our mission and values to create a culture of inclusion and belonging; a safe space where all may thrive and succeed.
  • Participate in developmental activities to increase understanding and awareness of issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion; apply that understanding to guide your approach to all aspects of your job and the community as a whole.

Additional Information:

Teaching responsibilities may require some evening classes and/or off-site classes.
