Position Summary:  As a member of the SkyWater Information Technology team, the Sr. IT Manager is a hands-on management role responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems infrastructure and Cyber Security. You will lead a team to modernize our infrastructure to deliver highly available systems and strengthen our cyber security framework. This role will have significant input into new technologies and strategies.  You will be also responsible for developing security and resiliency plans for IT systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems stability and vulnerabilities; ensuring procedural development and implementation are in compliance with security and organizational requirements; documenting hardware and software system security implementations; and developing best practices, operating procedures, and configurations guidance for the technologies used.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing physical and virtual servers on multiple operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows, VMWARE). 
  • Responsible for performance tuning of business-critical systems.
  • Participate in strategic planning. Provide substantial input into infrastructure and cyber security roadmap.
  • Manage InTune MDM for endpoint management for corporate and BYOD devices. 
  • Proactively ensure highest infrastructure availability on premise and within the cloud.
  • Design comprehensive backup strategy to deliver file recovery to disaster recovery scenario for business continuity.
  • Manage Netapp storage area network infrastructure.
  • Plan and implement systems automation.
  • Optimize physical and virtual server infrastructure across organization.
  • Support mix of Windows, Unix, and Linux environment.
  • Plan and implement new equipment\software rollouts.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades.
  • Assist with network, compute, storage or other infrastructure related troubleshooting.
  • Build and maintain server infrastructure and cyber security documentation.
  • Create policy for software patching\maintenance to keep systems optimized and safe from security risks. 
  • Liaison with stakeholders for new system design and implementation.
  • Build and maintain scripts to automation current manual processes. 
  • Refine and create endpoint image
  • Mentor junior level staff.
  • Maintain operational security posture for programs and information systems.
  • Perform system self-inspections, provide security coordination and review of all system test plans.
  • Identify system vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures.
  • lead and implement security certifications like CMMC and NIST standards
  • Manage IT service desk on delivery, service levels and continuous improvements

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 

Experience and/or Training: 

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT Management position focused on running Infrastructure/Security organizations
  • 10+ years’ experience as IT Systems Admin\Engineer: Preferably within 500+ employee org
  • Relevant certifications. MCSE a plus
  • Endpoint management (InTune, SCCM or ECM a plus)
  • Experience with server operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix)
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Experience with virtualization (VMWARE, Hyper-V)
  • Solid cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Storage technologies (Netapp a plus)
  • Blade chassis infrastructure
  • Comprehensive backup strategy (prefer in cloud solutions)
  • Scripting skills (Powershell, Perl, Python)
  • Automation software experience a plus (Puppet, Chef, VRealize)
  • DBA experience a plus but not required (Oracle, SQL Server, Ingres)
  • Experience with Azure Server Management and Azure Automation Desired State Configuration a plus
  • Understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models a plus
  • Knowledge on CMMC and NIST standards preferred

This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
