Savage is growing! We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator who will supervise the Rail Logistics team and ensure daily assigned activities are completed and communicated timely & accurately.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Run daily reports with railroad software and Pace Setter to manage the railcar fleet, compile switch reports, coordinate railcar inspections and repairs, verify railcar outages, and collaborate with the refinery on loading schedules
  • Communicating with the refinery about loading and labor constraints is essential, along with obtaining approval for railcar departures by 1 PM
  • Daily switch activities and scheduling for switch crews must be managed while resolving local rail issues with railroad supervisors and customer service teams
  • Oversight of Bourgue Logistics systems includes monitoring inbound rail movements and coordinating them with production units
  • Supervise logistic coordinators, including their hiring and training
  • Schedule unit train deliveries to and from the refinery and oversee offloading and internal car movement
  • Monthly on-call duty rotation

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of previous experience in rail operations or logistics
  • Travel to an offsite location, including an overnight stay, could be required
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in computer software, particularly Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn about railroad operations and safety
  • They must be able to complete job-related coursework, including tests on OSHA, HazMat, and FRA standards
  • Experience with Bourque Logistics or other rail management programs is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, a positive attitude, and teamwork are essential
  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical, and background check
  • Must possess or qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC Card)
  • Ability to work 12-hour schedules of 5 on 2 off

Physical Requirements:

  • Will sit for long hours
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs 
  • This is primarily an office position. In the office, the Team Member will be frequently exposed to normal office noises such as telephones ringing, copier running, etc. The noise level in the office is typically low to moderate
