Groundskeeper -  Maderas Golf Club

Job Summary:

The Groundskeeper performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. The greenskeeper will perform semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks.  

Essential Functions: 

• Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment
• Rakes and maintains sand bunkers
• Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming, and mowing
• Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetable material
• Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up)
• Assist with golf course set-up procedures
• Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris
• Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.)
• Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous related experience or training
• Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes
• Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment
• Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments
• Excellent time management skills

Physical Demands: 

• Regularly stands, walks, sits; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; talks and hears. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; lifts up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders or kneeling
• Must be physically able to operate power equipment

Environment/Noise: 

• Noise level is moderate
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
