The Budd Group is seeking a Director of Facilities to provide strategic direction, oversight, and support for the management of school campus facilities and grounds. The Director will manage the regular workflow and systems of the physical plant in order to provide the highest quality environment for safety, wellness, and learning. The Director will also manage the planning, design, and construction efforts for new facilities, renovations, and renewal/enhancement projects.

JOB DUTIES: 
  • Responsible for facility management services within the campus, including:
    • Building maintenance (MEP)
    • Janitorial Services
    • Grounds maintenance
    • Athletic field and facility maintenance
    • Event logistics
    • Traffic and parking control
    • Security
    • Transportation
  • Develops a facilities maintenance plan and sets strategic objectives. 
  • Conducts regular meetings with operations staff/vendors to ensure goals are being met.
  • Ensures client satisfaction with the facility management
  • Will lead, train, and develop direct reports (maintenance manager, Janitorial manager, and landscaping manager).
  • Establishes standardization and maintains consistency with best-in-class educational facility management practices, including financial and physical maintenance. 
  • Provides input and direction regarding issues as requested by the client, managers, and supervisors. 
  • Coordinates facility management reporting per needs of the client.
  • Manages monthly Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) reporting and tracking, and continuously analyzes CMMS data to benchmark operations and drive improvement.
  • Performs and documents scheduled inspection of facilities. 
  • Manages budgets for facilities, including operating and annual, long-term, and project budgets, tracks budget variances, and adjusts spending as necessary. 
  • Provides project management services, including obtaining bids as required, selecting vendors, and ensuring project completion on time and within budget
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations applicable to the facilities operations, including OSHA, etc.

REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 5+ years experience as a Facilities Manager overseeing department managers
  • Experience with preparation of, and adherence to, annual facility budgets and long-term capital plans
  • Must have hands-on experience in the building maintenance field (MEP). 
  • Project Management experience. 
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university or comparable experience in the field 
  • High proficiency with computers and technology, including CMMS systems. 
  • Experience with APPA educational facilities management program a plus.
  • APPA Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP), BOMI Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation, IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM®), and/or IREM Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation(s) preferred.
