The Budd Group is seeking a Director of Facilities  to lead the charge in maintaining and enhancing school campus facilities and grounds. Your strategic direction, oversight, and support will ensure a top-notch environment for safety, wellness, and learning. You'll also spearhead the planning, design, and construction of new facilities, renovations, and enhancement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee facility management services, including building maintenance (MEP), janitorial services, grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, event logistics, traffic and parking control, security, and transportation.
  • Develop and implement a facilities maintenance plan with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct regular meetings with operations staff and vendors to ensure goals are met.
  • Ensure client satisfaction with facility management.
  • Lead, train, and develop direct reports (maintenance manager, janitorial manager, and landscaping manager).
  • Establish and maintain consistency with best-in-class educational facility management practices.
  • Provide input and direction on issues from clients, managers, and supervisors.
  • Coordinate facility management reporting as per client needs.
  • Manage monthly CMMS reporting and tracking, continuously analyzing data to drive improvement.
  • Perform and document scheduled facility inspections.
  • Manage budgets, including operating, annual, long-term, and project budgets; track variances and adjust spending as necessary.
  • Provide project management services, including obtaining bids, selecting vendors, and ensuring on-time, on-budget project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations, including OSHA.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Facilities Manager overseeing department managers.
  • Experience preparing and adhering to annual facility budgets and long-term capital plans.
  • Hands-on experience in building maintenance (MEP).
  • Project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or comparable experience in the field.
  • High proficiency with computers and technology, including CMMS systems.
  • APPA educational facilities management program experience is a plus.
  • Preferred certifications: APPA Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP), BOMI Real Property Administrator (RPA), IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM®), and/or IREM Certified Property Manager (CPM®).
