Schedule: Four 10 hour shifts

As our new Sous Chef, you will be a positive, hard working and talented leader with effective communication skills, the desire to mentor, train and support your team and deliver 5-star quality cuisine to our residents. You will be working with all types of cuisine, so creativity is a must. You'll be contributing your talents to an ever-changing menu, planning menus for catering and events, preparing and presenting high-end quarterly dinners and specialty requests. Duties will consist of leading the line during service, overseeing special events, ordering, building station maps, making prep lists, working prep and holding your team to high cleaning and food standards.

You will have responsibilities such as educating servers and residents about the secrets of each meal. You will help the Executive Chef in providing great food to our residents, developing personal relationships; and ensure that each member of the team understands all aspects of cooking, food preparation, and presentation. Above all else, your passion for excellent food and outstanding hospitality will be the “extra” that makes our community stand out above the rest!

1+ years experience is necessary and ideal candidates must have a heart for serving others, as well as:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment
  • The willingness to continue learning and improving skills, as well as a commitment to confidentiality
  • The ability to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, team members and guests
  • Be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be 18 years old older
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background test
  • Have the desire to lead, mentor and support your team
