The Home Cook Chef Instructor plans, coordinates and executes all Home Cook Classes held at the Austin Campus. They work closely with the Campus President, Marketing, Purchasing, the Business Office, Executive Chef and all Lead Instructors to provide a unique, positive, informative and fun environment to guests and members of the Austin Community and surrounding areas. Communication, organization and instruction are essential to this position. This person will also be keenly involved in business development of the Home Cook concept.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
|
- Follow all set up and closing protocols of kitchen facilities.
- Follow all promotional schedules, purchasing deadlines, assembling recipes (for up to 20 guests).
- Ensure event details are being followed in regards to Event Brite, internal waivers, surveys, and scheduling of Instructors and student volunteers.
- Properly formatting recipes to ensure guests are getting accurate recipes that are user friendly and with appropriate quantities.
- Work closely with the purchasing department to create accurate “shopping lists” for each event that meet or exceed budget.
- Be able to create menus, perform demos and have an exceptional level of knowledge in topics taught.
- Provide a high level of guest service to ensure guests are participating in all dish creation.
- Be highly communicative with Lead Instructors, Purchasing Manager, Executive Chef and Campus president regarding any issue, challenge or feedback.
- Evening and weekend flexibility is required.
- Position may require attendance to faculty meetings and/or other meetings as planned.
- Provides continual coaching and positive feedback to guests.
- Exhibits a hands-on approach to instruction.

Daily Requirements
|
- Report to Campus when events are being held, and properly set up kitchen and demonstrations
- Ensure guests have signed liability waivers, survey sheets, photography agreement and campus gifts given are to guests.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation requirements are being strictly adhered to.
- Ensure event breakdown protocol is being followed, kitchens are clean and equipment and smallwares, tabletop items are cleaned and put in proper location.

Qualifications
|
- Teaching experience preferred
- Public speaking experience highly preferred
|

Knowledge, Skills, competencies and Abilities
|
- Strong Written and Verbal Skills;
- Facilitation and Presentation Skills;
- Strong relationship-building skills, including excellent communication skills among all levels of the organization;
- Basic computer literacy.-MS Office, Google sheets, forms, documents, email.

Some work is completed in a typical kitchen/classroom environment with the remainder of work completed in a typical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email and other electronic means, move about the office or school, handle various types of media and equipment, and visually or otherwise identify, observe, and assess.
