Location: North and South Carolina Divisional Headquarters - Charlotte, North Carolina

Position Type: Regular Part-Time (29 hours per week) 

Pay Range:        13.50/hr

About this opportunity:

Plans implements, supervises members, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Boys & Girls Club priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship. May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e., Keystone, Youth of the Year, and Awards Programs) and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary. In the absence of the Program Coordinator, may provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families in order to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

Key responsibilities:

  • Promotes and stimulates program participation.
  • Assist with registration of new members and participate in their club orientation process.
  • Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Program Development and Implementation (70%)
  • Implements and administers programs, services, and activities for Club members effectively.
  • May oversee special programs and services such as Youth of the Year programs or Youth of the Month.
  • Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of members, the quality of programs, and the appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.
  • Assists with the implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but not limited to an office environment due to travel requirements.
