Location: St Petersburg Area Command Sallie House, St Petersburg, FL 33713

Position Type: Regular Full-Time, 40 hours/week, Sun - Thurs, 10am - 6:30 pm

Pay Range: $20 -$22/hour

About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for providing case management and care coordination in partnership with various individuals and groups in the child welfare system and community for the resident of Sallie House. Acts as liaison and advocate for all and assists in maintaining case files for all Sallie House residents.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Prepares individual service plans for children following contract guidelines and accreditation standards; utilizes information gathered from direct observation, community input and staff interviews.
  • Schedules clinical appointments with outside vendors based on the individual needs of the children.
  • Meets with outside clinical service providers to understand the specific challenges for each resident and uses the information to better serve each resident.
  • Scheduling of individual and group counseling for the residents of Sallie House.
  • Utilizes assessment information to provide a coordinated plan to meet the needs of each resident.
  • Helps develop and maintain case files for all residents, completes forms within program timeframes and updates progress reports daily.

 What we are looking for in you:

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field and a minimum of two years’ experience in the field of social work, one of which has to have been in child welfare services, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work and a minimum of four years’ experience in the field of social work, two of which have to have been in child welfare services.
  • Valid state driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Must be cleared by Local Law Enforcement, State of Florida Dept. of Children and Families, and FBI background screens.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.

  

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

 

Work is performed in a normal child care/home environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work is often outside in playgrounds, courtyard, parks, beaches, pools.

 

Work may require driving a vehicle where there may be discomforts associated with heavy traffic or changes in weather.
