Location:  Facilities Director/Admin Office/WPB, Florida

Position Type: Regular – Full Time (Exempt)

Pay Range: $65,683 annually.

About this opportunity:

Key responsibilities:

Executes competent discretionary authority and independent judgment needed in the performance of duties and supervision of staff.

 

Develops & manages monthly budget and reviews financial statements: Develop; & Manage Annual Capital Improvements Plan (including budget & Funding); Works with the Area Commanders and Corps Officers to develop agency planning, including implementation of the Long-Range Strategic Plan.

Ensures that the department complies including public safety, maintenance standards, program contract compliance, employment fair labor law requirements. 

 

Supervise all departmental staff and ensure work is in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations (i.e., OSHA, Health Department, Code enforcement, DCF, departmental manuals, etc.).

 

Monitors employees ‘work in progress’ and upon completion; instructs and trains employees in proper methods and procedures.

Conducts performance evaluations; Provides constructive and positive feedback to employees to improve productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Recommends staff disciplinary actions to HR.

Direct supervision of Maintenance Staff, Custodian; Plans, schedules, conducts, and participates in Director’s meetings to discuss issues, priorities, practices, and procedures; resolves operational problems and giving recommendations to the Operations Program Director.

 

Manages purchasing as it relates to Facilities & Properties and monitors the supplies and equipment for the organization within the approved budget or seeking approval for non-budgeted items from the Operation Program Director. 

Monitors PBC Area Command’s disaster preparedness; keeps abreast of current trends in disaster services, response, and operational procedures.  Including personnel, equipment, and supplies; handles ongoing disaster vehicle maintenance and purchasing of equipment.

Collaborates with the EDS Coordinator and other local Disaster Relief agencies to create productive partnership during times of disaster.  Provides support as an informational resource to PBCAC Leadership and local disaster personnel, Emergency Officials, and FEMA offices; offers support; attends meetings; maintains working relationships; attains knowledge of all laws and operational procedures relative i.e., FEMA.

Assists in the development and implementation of strategic plans for risk, crisis, and disaster service training;

 

Assists the EDS Coordinator with requests for emergency service personnel and/or equipment from PBC Command facilities; contact Divisional Headquarters disaster services.   

What we are looking for in you:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

and

Seven years’ experience in facility maintenance operations with at least two years in a supervisory position

or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Ability to perform routine and complex mathematical computations and analysis needed for budget administration.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely.

Work is normally performed in an office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
