Location: Florida Divisional Headquarters, Lutz, FL

Position Type: Regular Full-Time, Exempt

Pay Range: $78,000.00 – $86,000.00/yr.

About this opportunity:

Under the general supervision of the Finance Director, the Divisional Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll functions and all related accounting personnel to provide financial reporting and transactional accounting service to the Florida Division. The incumbent will oversee a $22.6 million budget.  He/she applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for internal and external users.  The incumbent will accomplish tasks with particular emphasis on customer service and seeks to add value for the organization’s management. He/she supervises the Accounting Supervisor and Payroll Administrator.


Key responsibilities:

  • Manages, interviews, selects, trains, recommends promotions/terminations, schedules, motivates and evaluates accounting personnel throughout the Division.

 

  • Plans, schedule, assigns and supervises the work of employees in the Divisional Accounting Department; trains and instruct employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with established policies and procedures; conduct performance evaluations and provides salary and hiring/firing recommendations.

 

  • Works with the Financial Systems Manager, Regional Accounting Manager and Payroll Coordinator to ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual closings in support of systematic financial consolidation and reporting.

 

  •  What we are looking for in you:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and seven years progressive experience in accounting, audit, budget and systems with advanced spreadsheet/database production preferably with a 501 (3) c tax exempt status organization; demonstrated experience in the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting processes and payroll processing, benefit reconciliation and tax reporting; experience in creating internal policies and monthly and quarterly accounting reports for the management; experience in Sage Intacct accounting software preferred; three years previous supervisor experience required.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
