Kitchen Assistant (part-time)

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a part time Kitchen Assistant for the Coastal Alabama Area Command located in Mobile, Alabama.

About this opportunity:

Assists in the preparation and serving of meals. Cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes. Sweeps and mops floors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include:

• Knowledge of cleaning practices, methods, and techniques.
• Ability to assist in the preparation and presentation of meals.
• Ability to wash dishes and kitchen appliances. 
• Ability to clean kitchen and dining area.

What we are looking for in you:

• One year experience working in a kitchen or any equivalent combination of training and experience

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work is performed in a normal kitchen environment where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with working around hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers. Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.
