About this opportunity:

Plans, implements, and evaluates activities and supervises participants of The Salvation Army’s Boys and Girls Club Summer Day Camp.  Supports the BGC  priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Implements and administers programs, services and activities for day camp participants.
  • Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the club at all times.
  • Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner.
  • Ability to support and coordinate activities and events.
  • Ability to clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers, volunteers and the public in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
  • Ability to operate and generally maintain all office equipment, including but into limited to the copier, fax machine.
  • Proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

 

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
  • Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
  • Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequently changing basis.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
