About this opportunity:

The Program Coordinator of our Day Center is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day centers programs, including client intake and inquiries, program oversight; staff supervision and scheduling; data collection and report preparation; compliance; and all other matters required to ensure a smooth, safe operation and excellent service to Day center guests. Oversees all program operations to ensure success of the program in meeting client needs. Day to day management and operation of the Day Center programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Program Development, including program design, policies and procedures in coordination with the Social Services Manager.
  • Manages programs and day center functions
  • Monitors program goals, including the maintenance of quality standards of service deliver.
  • Increases community awareness of problems faced by those experiencing homelessness.
  • Collaborates with partner agencies regarding coordination of services.
  • Manages day center volunteers.

What we are looking for in you:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years’ experience developing programs specific to homelessness, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of day center program development.

 

  • Ability to evaluate program effectiveness and compliance with quality standard as well as the strategic plan of the organization.

 

  • Ability to prepare accurate and complete statistical reports representing the activity of the progress of programs.

 

  • Ability to instruct, supervise, and evaluate the work of program development leaders to ensure the continual development of those in need of services.

 

  • Ability to respond to and attempt to resolve conflicts that may arise among the members and/or staff in a calm and professional manner.

 

  • Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with those experiencing homelessness and community leaders participating in the programs.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

 

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

 

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

 

Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little to no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
