About this opportunity:

This Program Manager plans, develops, administers, and evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day operations and assigned staff providing case management services for the Pathway of Hope program in such a manner as to ensure maximum benefits to clients, the community, and funding agencies. Ensures the Pathway of Hope program is administered within established policies and procedures, including government grant and Salvation Army policies and guidelines. Builds new relationships with community agencies in the assigned service area and maintains effective working relationships with these community agencies for client referrals.  Trains and mentors newly designated Case Management in the appropriate processes and procedures for the Pathways of Hope program. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of The Salvation Army’s mission, philosophy, culture, protocol, and organizational structure. 
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective case management and supervision. 
  • Knowledge of effective and efficient organizing and maintaining case management and program records. 
  • Ability to render competent casework services. 
  • Ability to plan, develop and successfully coordinate social service programs.  
  • Ability to perform short- and long-range planning to enhance social services. 
  • Ability to counsel staff at all levels to resolve potential social service issues and protect The Salvation Army’s interests. 
  • Ability to apply discretion and independent judgment when addressing and resolving social services issues. 
  • Ability to maintain reasonable and professional working relationships between officers, staff, and professionals in the community. 
  • Ability to discharge the duties and responsibilities consistent with the principles, standards, Orders, and Regulations of The Salvation Army. 
  • Ability to conduct the affairs of this position responsibly, efficiently, and economically and to motivate staff to do likewise. 

 

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a related field.
  • Five years of experience performing responsible social service case management work with at least three years in a management role.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Manual dexterity.  Ability to sit, walk, and stand on a frequent change basis in order to perform the duties of this position.  Ability to lift objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.  Must be self-directed with ability to tolerate frequent interruptions.

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. There are times the position will take you into Disaster relief environments.
