About this opportunity:

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a full-time Education & Workforce Development Coordinator for the Center of Hope, located in Savannah, GA. This position works with the Center of Hope Director by coordinating, overseeing, and implementing the Education and Workforce program. Supervises and monitors the day-today activities of the Education and Workforce Development programming and ensures that operations runs smoothly and in compliance with established procedures.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Promotes awareness and support for the workforce development program attends community meetings and performs public speaking and represents The Salvation Army in a positive and professional manner.
  • In coordination with the Director, implements and enforces program policies and procedures; prepares and updates procedure manual.
  • Plans, coordinates, and/or facilitate classes to assist clients in obtaining skills that will enable them to implement the training received in the program.
  • Interviews, accepts, and provides comprehensive, long-term, structured, complex, case management services for an assigned caseload of clients participating in the Education and Workforce program.

 

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Program Management, Social Services, or a related field.
  • Two years’ experience planning, implementing, and managing program activities, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Driver’s License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements; to read, write and communicate the English language; Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action. Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.  Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5 -10% of work time; Duties are usually performed seated.  Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
