Location: Divisional Headquarters, Lutz, Florida

Position Type:  Full-Time at 35 hrs/wk

Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00

About this opportunity: Plans, implements, and administers the day-to-day operations of the SAGE Program for an assigned region by using a functionalized double-entry accounting package.  Provides overall supervision and review of accounting records, ledgers and statements for accuracy and completeness.  Maintains, interprets, and ensures the integrity of the chart of accounts, journals, fiscal closing statements, bank accounts, general ledger, asset management and depreciation, etc. for an assigned region. Serves as liaison and technical support between the assigned local units and Divisional Headquarters.

Key responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of accepted principles, methods, and practices of computerized double-entry fund accounting as well as finance, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to apply discretion and independent judgment when processing, analyzing and resolving routine accounting transactions and reporting in accordance with accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to organize, lead, develop and maintain an effective and professional working relationship with all Finance Department Personnel, Salvation Army officers and employees, and professionals in the community.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field,
  • two years progressively responsible experience performing double-entry computerized accounting work with Great Plains accounting experience is preferred.

 

  • Valid Driver's License

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

 

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

 

Work involves traveling to various locations in assigned region where there may be physical discomforts associated with travel.
