Location: The Augusta Kroc Center

Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour

About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for creating exception customer service experience, along with promoting the Kroc Center Membership and Programs to Members and Non-Members in the community through various functions: cultivate and develop fruitful relationships with Members and Visitors, oversees all potential and current memberships, facility tours, membership orientation, Over sees the Welcome Desk and Lobby, special member events and all other related duties associated with the guests.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Check for accuracy with membership sales current memberships, merchandise, and the Welcome desk at the Kroc Center
  • Oversee the POS System that will allow for timely and accurate processing of membership records, including payments, address changes, program interest, and facility use; Provide regular statistical reports related to the members, including recruitment/retention goals, program trends, and other reporting as needed.
  • Serves as the main contact person for all guests, members, and potential members of the Kroc Center; Assists in the recruitment and retention of members in the Kroc Center and by attending community events, fairs, etc.
  • Represents The Salvation Army in a professional and positive manner; promotes a warm and inviting atmosphere that gives the guests and members the at home feeling when they are in the Kroc Center.
  • Work in a cooperative manner with the other on-site managers and program staff to provide quality customer service and assistance to members and guests.
  • Be aware of all programs, classes, and events in the Kroc Center to ensure proper information is inputted in the POS and that the entire Sales Department, Members and Salvation Army staff have the most current information in the POS, Fliers, Newsletters, Emails, etc.
  • Coordinate special member events and activities on an on-going basis.
  • Works with IT Staff or Sales and Events Manager concerning Membership Software Issues
  • Development a sales plan which embodies a multilateral approach to reaching new corporate sales markets, update plan as needed.

 

  • Responsible for development of corporate membership sales plan; working cooperatively with outside organizations to increase corporate membership by goal of at least 20% annually.
  • Responds to inquiries, requests for information, complaints, etc. from members and prospective members in a accurate timely and professional manner; resolves any guest concerns in a prompt and professional manner and in keeping with The Salvation Army Mission statement.
  • Be an ambassador for the Kroc Center by giving and coordinating tours, presentations, promoting the center and selling memberships to any interested groups or individuals.
  • Work in cooperative manner with assisting the Sales & Events Manager for attending outside events in the local community.
  • Cross-trained in Basic Event Information in order to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Ensure all membership information is entered into kiosk and reported in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Creates a yearly, monthly, weekly Sales Plan for the Kroc Center concerning Sales Specials, Member Specials and Promotions. Enthusiastically promote to the Welcome Desk Staff while fostering a sales environment with goals and action plans.
  • Designs, prepares layout and generate charts, graphs, posters, bulletins and programs as needed.
  • Plans performing long-range planning, identifying goals and objectives for the ensuing year.
  • Assists in preparing and administering the departmental budget; develops budget income and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with budget.
  • Hours vary to include occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of all Kroc Center members, guests, and clients.
  • Observe all Safety Rules and regulations.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Relations, Business,   Communications, Marketing, or related field, and
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience coordinating or managing public relations, special events, media relations and/or volunteers, or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

 

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Work is performed in an environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with dust, dirt, and the like. Work will involve periods of walking while conducting facility tours. Work is performed in a fast paced environment and includes frequent phone and in person contact with people from diverse backgrounds who may be angry, hostile, confused or frustrated.
