Position Type:    Boys and Girls Club Branch Manager

About this opportunity: Directs and manages the overall daily operations of a branch/unit under the control of the organization with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision and training of staff (direct and indirect reports), personnel issues, management of a facility, manage a budget, actively engage and support a community relations, volunteers, and membership administration. Represents the Club in the community and builds a professional and positive image of The Salvation Army implementing program services that advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plans, coordinates, and directs all youth activities and programs for the Boys & Girls Club; plans, directs, recruits, and supervises all program staff and volunteers; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; conducts performance evaluations & provides salary & hiring/firing recommendations.
  • Establishes Branch programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
  • Lead the strategic planning and operation of Club, to support and advance the organizational mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs and The Salvation Army. Develop goals in conjunction with the Salvation Army Battle Plan. (Strategic Planning)
  • In absence of an Operations Manager would supervise Data Coordinator. Oversees the Boys & Girls Club member management system and the accuracy of the data. (Management)

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social services
  • Three (3) years’ progressively responsible experience in the management, administration, and operation of a Boys & Girls Club, with at least two (2) years in a leadership capacity
  • Five (5) years’ experience working in a similar youth-serving.
  • Any equivalent combination of education/experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements (required to be on-site a minimum of 80% of the operating hours of the program). Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to drive a vehicle safely and follow all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Duties are usually performed standing and walking and relieved by periods of sitting to perform other duties. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.

Working conditions

Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
