Program Aide

Location:            Central VA Area Command Boys and Girls Club – Richmond, VA

Position Type:     Seasonal, Part-Time

Pay Range:         $11.00 - $14.00

About this opportunity:

Assists in facilitating and monitoring recreational and educational activities of the Boys & Girls Club; supervises sporting games; assist with transporting patrons to and from the Boys & Girls Club; assists in maintaining the Boys & Girls Club facilities, and equipment.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervises members visiting the Boys & Girls Club and participating in programs; ensures that member's behavior remains consistent with Club rules and regulations.
• Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Boys & Girls Club facilities.
• Supervises activities; leads and motivates players to exhibit good sportsmanship.
• Works with volunteers and sponsors for the Boys & Girls Club and its activities.

What we are looking for in you:

• High school diploma or G.E.D; AND
• Six months experience supervising athletic events and/or youth programs; OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid State Driver’s License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, bending and walking on a frequent change basis. Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
