JOB TITLE:                          GRANTS & CONTRACTS MANAGER

 

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Grants & Contracts Manager for the Orlando Area Command, located in Orlando, FL.

 

Position Type & Pay Range: Exempt, Full-Time, $58,392.48 - $65,683.44.

 

About this opportunity: Identify potential grant opportunities via research of typical and atypical channels. Prepares funding proposals and applications for new government, corporate, foundations and private funding prospects, and submits on a timely basis. Serves as the Point of Contact for Q&A with funders during in person or online application review meetings Reviews contracts for compliance with applicable laws and regulations; prepares contracts for submission to Social Services, Property Management or other DHQ departments. Responds to inquiries from DHQ and DFB. Implements and maintains funding calendar activities including a schedule of compliance reporting and requirements. Activates necessary resources to provide information in support of compliance requirements. Maintains appropriate databases established by funders such as Council On Aging and the HFUW 211 website. Prepares and submits applications to funding agencies including, but not limited to, City, County, State and Federal governments, local agencies, corporations, and foundations.

 

Reviews applications, contracts, and grants for compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines. Monitors and prepares grants for submission via TSAMM to Social Services, Property Management or other DHQ departments for review prior to submission by those departments to the Divisional Finance Board/Board of Trustees. Serves as liaison between funders, Command, Division and Territorial Headquarters. Assists the Command in preparing new program proposals. Research and provide Command with information regarding potential funding sources. Ensures Divisional Social Services and Property Management communication is maintained. Provides information to Command concerning agreement compliance requirements, social issues, and concerns. Investigates and provides information to Corps relative to licensure, standards for operations, etc. for funding programs. Prepares general correspondence to Corps regarding fundings including compliance reporting and date requirements. Maintains a current list of active agencies, updating records as necessary to revise phone numbers, mailing addresses, etc.; maintains current listing of funder contacts. Prepares necessary reports and sends to the appropriate agencies on assigned dates.

 

What we are looking for in you: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field, AND three years progressively responsible experience in contract administration and grant writing  or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Licenses and Certifications

Approved background check required. Valid State Driver license may be required.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Ability to type and key data into a computer. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals. Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission, philosophy, culture, protocol, and organizational structure. Knowledge of grant and contract administration. Solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants. Knowledge of legal terminology. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing grant/contract agreements and religious/non-profit organizations. Ability to interpret and understand government rules and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively with funding sources representing The Salvation Army in a professional, competent manner. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete records, reports, correspondence.

 

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated.  Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Works is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
