Territorial Property & Real Estate Accountant
Location: Territorial Headquarters, Atlanta, GA
About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for performing and processing accounting functions for the property department including processing the setting up of accounts, posting, procedures, regulations, account coding, entries, transferring funds, and processing check requests, processes drawdowns on bank loans.
Key responsibilities:
- Reviews all contractor payment applications and architect invoices to ensure correct balances brought and carried forward, budget compliance, and accurate contract amount; reviews documents for inclusion or omission of approved change orders; verifies funding of the same
- Processes the establishing and maintaining of new project accounts based on approved property proposals; checks all proposed accounts to ensure adequate funding is available.
- Works closely with all Territorial Property departments to ensure property accounts are reviewed, accurately coded, and deposited within applicable deadlines
What we are looking for in you:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, AND
- Three years of progressively responsible accountant experience, and two years of experience in real estate or commercial property management. OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Ability to manipulate numbers.
Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically.
Ability to operate and utilize computer systems to generate and record financial data.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 30 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with the changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
