ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
Plans, implements, supervises members and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Boys & Girls Club priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e. Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participate and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary. In absence of the Program Coordinator, may provide supervision to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families in order to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

Prepare Youth for Success (20%)
Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
- Promotes and stimulates program participation.
- Assists with registration of new members and participates in their club orientation process.
- Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
Program Development and Implementation (70%)
Implements and administers programs, services and activities for Club members in an effective manner.
May oversee special programs and services such as Youth of the Year programs or Youth of the Month.
Monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.
Assist with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
Facility & Equipment Management (10%)
Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order.
Assists in maintaining all storage areas keeping them orderly and clean.
Reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to supervisor.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Education & Experience:
· High School Diploma or G.E.D. and previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred and
· Commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan including Level II & Level III Training which includes completion of 20 credit Hours of Boys & Girls Club of America Spillet Training.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to deal comfortably with stressful situations and follow emergency procedures. Ability to multitask, ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a safe and effective manners. Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in positive, professional manner. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
