About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Social Services Program; supervises all program staff and ensures work is in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations; prepares and monitors expenditures in compliance with department budget.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervises and monitors the day-to-day activities of the program; ensures that operations run smoothly and in compliance with established procedures.
  • Supervises staff responsible for providing services; instructs and trains employees in the proper methods and procedures for conducting work; monitors work in process and upon completion for compliance with established program policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations and makes salary and hiring/firing recommendations.
  • Maintains awareness of local, state and federal regulations governing program operations and ensures compliance to the same including health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Prepares and maintains various logs, records, statistical reports, etc. reflecting social services and emergency programs.
  • Prepares and maintains case records including daily case notes and logs on all assigned clients; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same; enters pertinent information into the established Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and or POH (Pathway of Hope).
  • Assumes direct practice caseload.  Client centered responsibilities include assessment, the creation of a service plan, referrals, and linking the client to other needed resources; meets with clients on a regularly scheduled basis for service planning, progress monitoring, and timely interventions.

 

 

 

 

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, or a related social services field AND
  • Two years progressively responsible experience performing social services work with at least one year in a supervisory capacity OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
