Location:  Palm Beach Area Command/Center of Hope – WPB, FL

Position Type:  Resident Monitor/Respite Attendant - Regular Full Time

Pay Rate:  $17.20 p/h       

About this opportunity:

Ensures that all rooms are in proper order before arrival of residents; checks fire equipment and ensures proper working order.

Changes and launders sheets for Medical Respite participants, maintains cleanliness and disinfection of Respite area, including restrooms (toilets, sinks, showers, floors), and removal of trash.

Ensures cleanliness and disinfection of equipment and supplies (including wheelchairs, crutches, etc.).

Ensures waste, sharps, and soiled linen removal is transported safely with minimum disruption to facility operations.

Reports any needs of the participants to the Nurse Case Manager.

Checks clients into the shelter.

Monitors clients taking medications. Maintains medications and medicine logs for Medical Respite participants.

Prepares and distributes towels, linens, and personal hygiene items.

Delivers meals to Respite participants, as needed. Ensures that participants always have access to drinking water.

Launders clothing of Respite participants, as needed.

Changes and lauders sheets for Medical Respite participants; maintains cleanliness and disinfection of Respite area, including restrooms (toilets, sinks, showers, floors), cleaning of spills or messes caused by participants, and removal of trash.   

What we are looking for in you:

High school diploma or G.E.D.

and

one year experience performing security or social service work preferred,

or

 

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.

Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.

Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.  Distance of travel is usually within the same building.

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Works is performed at the Center of Hope facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
