Location: Wheeling Corps – Wheeling, West Virginia


Position Type: Seasonal Full Time


Pay Range: $12.50/Hour


About this opportunity:


This position is responsible for driving a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell-ringing locations.


Key responsibilities:



  • Provides transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps.

  • Picks up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to the warehouse.

  • Picks up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.

  • Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.

  • Park the vehicle in a safe and clearly marked parking space.

  • Locks vehicle doors when the vehicle is not in use.

  • Fuels vehicles in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.

  • Logs all mileage on standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.

  • Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephones ahead when severe delays occur.

  • Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.


What we are looking for in you:



  • High School Diploma OR

  • G.E.D. And

  • Valid Driver's License And

  • Two (2) years of experience operating an automotive vehicle


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:


Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.


Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat, or discomforts associated with long-distance trips or heavy traffic.
