Truck Driver & Sorting Room Worker

Location:  Henderson, KY Family Store

About this opportunity:

Drive Salvation Army trucks to scheduled route to pick up donations and deliver merchandise to customers; operates the truck in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations: lifts, carries, loads, and unloads a variety of donations, including furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; ensures the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and contributions at all times; assists in performing work in the thrift store and warehouse. Additionally, assist in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.

What we are looking for in you:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. and experience working in a retail store preferred.

  and

  One year of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van

  or

  Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Valid Driver’s License with a DOT Health Card or the ability to get such a card.

  CDL is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.

Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)

Ability to stand, walk, sit, and stand for extended periods and on a frequent change basis.

Work requires driving a vehicle and working in a warehouse with exposure to the outdoors, where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like
