Human Resources Generalist
Job Description


Department:  Human Resources
Reports To:  Human Resources Manager
Location:  Support Center
Classification:  Exempt Pay range $65000.00 - $75,000.00


Position Summary: 
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties in support of all restaurants.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: leave administration, employee relations, onboarding, workers’ compensation, safety, labor law compliance, benefits administration, and COVID-19 compliance.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
●    Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel, including onboarding and new hire processes, I9 management, and benefit administration.
●    Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
●    Performs worker’s compensation claims management; evaluates injury reports, advises and/or assists in conducting investigation of injury reports, including interviewing of witnesses and procurement of relevant documentation.  In conjunction with the insurance claims adjuster, assists with care for injured workers, directs accommodations related to work restrictions, and assists in coordinating pay with the insurance claims adjuster.  
●    Responsible for overseeing company safety program.
●    Responsible for all COVID related items, including contact tracing, notification to Team Members and local health departments, and managing return to work timelines.
●    Generates various reports and partners with Area Directors to ensure compliance and minimize outliers.
●    Manages all leaves of absence for all Company Team Members in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
●    Responsible for intake regarding Team Member issues and concerns.  Conducts investigations and makes recommendations for resolution.
●    Manages the GovDocs Poster Program.  Maintains compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning employment.
●    Requires regular and reliable attendance.

Non-Essential Job Duties
May perform similar and incidental duties as required.

Job Qualifications
Education:  Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, or related field required.  HR certification, SHRM-CP or PHR designation preferred.  
Experience:  2-3 years of HR related experience required.  Restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.  
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws.  Proficient with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office software.  Strong knowledge of HRIS systems – Ceridian Dayforce preferred. Basic knowledge of scheduling software such as Brink or CTUIT.
Language Skills:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Strong presentation skills. Bilingual Spanish preferred.  
Other Skills:  Excellent interpersonal skills.  Strong problem solving and leadership skills.   Excellent time management skills.  Must be agile and quick to respond to changes and the needs of Team Members and/or the organization.  Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

Major Business/Professional Contacts
Regular contact with Support Center cross-functional partners, restaurant Team Members, and the Leadership Team.   Occasional contact with vendors.

Working and Environmental Conditions
Typically functions in an office environment.  Use of computer, keyboard, and telephone required. Occasionally functions in a restaurant environment.  May be required to travel via car or airplane, up to 10% of the time, or as needed. 

Physical Demands
Requires sitting for extended periods. Requires time in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time.  Occasional lifting of equipment that may weigh up to 20 lbs.
