About This Role:

Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join the UX/UI team (User Experience & User Interface). You will be leading Client Programs that span early conceptualization through production of digital solutions in native mobile, web and embedded hardware applications. This role reports to the Manager of UX/UI Design and collaborates with Research and Design teams globally.

 

As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will be part of a cross-functional team of Project and Functional Leads, UX/UI Designers, Researchers, Industrial Designers, Software Engineers and more to design digital solutions that meet user needs, mitigate risk, and delight clients. The designer is responsible for representing the user to deliver thoughtful design solutions. You will ensure that all elements of the digital user experience is optimized for improved usability, accessible interaction, information and visual design.

 

The ideal candidate should be an innovative, creative and well-organized self-starter. Passionate for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to design problems by staying up to date with best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.

 

 

What You Will Do:

  1. Generalist that can take on the role of a design lead on client projects, and advocate for a culture of critical review of design solutions.
    1. Ability to create deliverables from low-fidelity wireframes, information architectures, workflow diagrams, interactive prototypes through defining a UI Specification and Style Guide for Software implementation.
    2. Ability to visually communicate clinical data in applications through story telling.
    3. Designs UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page/screen layouts, flows, navigational menus, search boxes, tabs, etc. for mobile, web and embedded hardware systems.
    4. Presents design solutions and understands the value of critical review to design experiences that are intuitive.
    5. Assists with resonance & usability testing of early design stimuli / interactive prototypes to captures user feedback for integration into the program.
    6. Experience in collaborating with Research, Design, HF, and Software Engineering to develop digital solutions.
  2. Communicate the design intent to clients and able to plan design activities so the UX/UI team on projects is set up for success.
    1. Advises client relationships as a design lead and supports the project team’s goals.
    2. Ability to develop client presentations, capturing the design process.
    3. Ability to work through tight deadlines by planning activities, setting expectations and pacing yourself to deliver within timeline and budget on projects. Works with the UX/UI manager as needed to plan these activities.
  1. Interest in mentoring to build team culture and discipline expertise.
    1. Provides leadership, training, guidance, and support to UX/UI staff by mentoring junior level designers in conceptualizing comprehensive UX/UI design solutions.
    2. Shares knowledge and actively listen for the team’s needs.
    1. Assists management with teambuilding activities as needed.
  1. Interest in gaining awareness of business development activities.
    1. Interest in understanding the proposal process in business development activities
    2. Advocate in UX/UI design community as a leader in the space.

 

 

Qualifications

Required skills:

 

  • BFA, BS, BA or BSID in User Experience, UI Design, Graphic Design, Interactive Design, Industrial Design or related discipline.
  • 3-6 years of experience designing digital products in UX and UI or a combination of education and related experience.
  • A portfolio of professional UX/UI Design for mobile, web and/or embedded hardware applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of user experience and digital user interface design.
  • Working knowledge of technical software such as Figma, HTML/CSS, iOS, Android, Design Systems and Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

 

Preferred: 

  • Experience in medical devices and healthcare software solutions.
  • Experience with healthcare industry and specialty experience in medical device markets.
  • Track record of thoughtful, user-focused product insights, with the ability to handle ambiguity. while working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with working in a collaborative environment using agile methods.
  • Working knowledge of software and developer languages are a plus.
  • User Research Study and experience a plus (Contextual Inquiry, Formative, Summative and etc.)
  • Medical device labeling and packaging design experience is a plus.
