Sr. Systems Engineer 6-8 years’ experience works under supervision and resolves tech issues independently

 

Summary of Position:
The Systems Engineer works as a member of the IT Infrastructure team. This role is tasked with keeping the existing infrastructure stable while helping to create an automated monitoring systems and administration

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide IT Operations Support.
  • Support / update existing network infrastructure.
  • Manage and resolve issues with Microsoft Azure Virtual Network components and cloud networking.
  • Support data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical systems and data.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, applying patches and updates as required.
  • Working knowledge of server support; Physical and Virtual as well as different type of Operating Systems (Windows/Linux).
  • Ability to automate server and service provisioning and other tasks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including server configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with team members to enhance overall system administration capabilities.
  • Respond to system-related incidents and service requests, providing timely resolutions and support to end-users.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to address urgent issues outside regular business hours.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with departments to implement those fixes
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • 6 to 8 years’ experience within the system infrastructure space.
  • Experienced in Windows Servers, Active Directory, Cloud management, monitoring, and scripting with PowerShell.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization.
  • Experience with monitoring systems with current tools.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proven track record of getting things done.
  • Flexible attitude to transition as priorities dictate.
  • A vision for building stable, reliable, and highly performing systems that create less work for everyone.
  • Candidates with prior experience in the healthcare industry, preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
