Human Resources - Senior HR/Talent Business Partner

This individual will be a strategic partner and an integral part of developing and executing talent strategies and actions that deliver results against the overall business plan and strategic direction of the bank.

  • Reporting to the HR/Talent Director, this position will ensure that the Veritex culture is embedded into the talent strategies and actions for each line of business and functional group supported.
  • Provide counsel to line of business, Senior Leadership, and functional leaders through a collaborative and consultative approach, incorporating and evaluating multiple perspectives to find win-win solutions.
  • Leveraging the HR/Talent team’s expertise, analyze internal and external market data to identify potential issues or trends to recommend proactive and targeted solutions to position the business for success.
  • In this hands-on role, will also be responsible for entering data into various HR systems, reporting, and proactively identifying potential issues or trends.
  • Provide advice and counsel to people leaders as they attract, develop, manage, engage, and reward the talent needed to achieve their strategic business objectives.
  • Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning with designated line of business or functional groups to identify, develop, engage, and retain high-potential and critical talent.
  • Help drive optimized business performance through effective organizational design and work force planning.
  • Ensure the bank’s culture and values are embedded into the employee value proposition and that our daily work environment reinforces it.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Coach leaders (at all levels) and employees to become even better, mentoring both formally and informally.
  • Ensure line of business and functional leaders build effective change management techniques and communications into their business and talent plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Minimum 7 years of proven success operating in a HR Business Partner role, including:
  • Talent Review and Succession Planning
  • Leadership development and coaching
  • Organizational design and workforce planning
  • Compensation analysis – including variable compensation plan effectiveness
  • Assessing market competitiveness in attracting and retaining talent
  • Analyzing employee engagement data and implementing meaningful solutions
  • Employee relations resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Experience in Financial Services industry strongly preferred
  • Business related bachelor’s degree preferred
