SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Quality Inspector checks the quality of the products that are running on the production line and inspects finished goods in accordance with standards and specifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Primary responsibilities are:

  • Review the fill and assembly specification and the standard received from the Quality Supervisor
  • Enforce Current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP’s) and company policies
  • Verify components for accuracy according to the Bill of Material (BOM)
  • Compare assembly with the standard on each production line
  • Work with Line Leader and Mechanic to ensure that product meets specification
  • Check the pull force of the cap using pull force gauge to determine whether the bottle was assembled correctly
  • Verify that the product isn’t leaking by testing a sample in the vacuum chamber every 30 minutes.
  • Check quality of the crimp using test equipment to ensure that the bottle is sealed properly
  • Randomly check samples from each pallet before pallet is removed from the production floor
  • Approve pallets that meet all requirements using an RF scanner
  • Collect customer samples and retain samples and label appropriately
  • Complete the following forms                                                   
  • Weight form (every hour)
  • Pallet Inspection form (minimum 15 minutes to maximum 60 minutes for every pallet)
  • First Article Inspection form (performed at beginning of the run or first thing in the morning)
  • Component Verification Form
  • Vacuum, pull force, socoge, pump to prime form
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned

 

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Certifications:   None
  • Experience:  
  • 0 to 3 years experience in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical or related industry in Quality Assurance / Quality Control.
  • Ability  to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculation
  • Ability to use a counting scale and RF Scanner
  • Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others
  • Demonstrate safe behavior and support department/plant Safety goals in a continuous improvement process
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends before and after schedule as needed
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Bilingual Spanish/English, a plus

 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Work with industrial manufacturing equipment on production line

Ability to utilize a computer, telephone, fax and copy machine as well as other general office equipment
