Equipment Cleaning and Sanitizing Technician - 1st Shift (Mon - Thur)

Position Summary

The Equipment Cleaning and Sanitizing Technician provides production support by interacting with production personnel to ensure all production requirements are met as related to compounding. Load and unload bulk chemicals and concentrates. Clean and sanitize all required chemical processing equipment, pipes, pumps and tanks. Ensure all processing areas are consistently in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

•Operate and troubleshoot chemical transfer equipment as it relates to supplying the production operation with formula.

•Receive and unload bulk chemicals and concentrates.

•Prepare sanitization solution as needed for cleaning and sanitization of filling lines and associated equipment. Maintain accurate record of all alcohol used in the cleaning and sanitization process.

•Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning and repairs.

•Follow written procedures to clean, sanitize and supply formula to the production lines.

•Follow written procedures to clean and sanitize all compounding tanks and equipment as required.

•Complete all necessary documentation for cleaning and sanitizing accurately, timely and in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

•Maintain and document cleaning schedules as required.

•Develop a working knowledge of compliance with hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment.

•Participate in maintaining compounding areas in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

•Comply with plant safety standards, cGMPs, current standard practices, and all other plant policies/rules.

•Successfully complete training programs, including personal protective equipment, confined space entry, respirator fitting and proper use, forklift operation, preventative maintenance for processing equipment, equipment operation and inventory control.

•Perform all duties in a safe manner using proper tools and wearing appropriate protective equipment as required.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications

•High School Diploma or GED

•At least 6 months experience in warehouse environment; Prefer similar or mechanical experience.

•Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

•Must be able to write clearly and legibly.

•Forklift Certification

 

Physical Demands

•Must be able to physically endure work schedule.

•Must be comfortable with heights and confined spaces.

•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

•Ability to adjust and move equipment to complete projects.
