General Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily production schedule, line crewing and general administration of multiple manufacturing lines within the facility to maximize productivity, minimize cost while maintaining quality. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct the work team and supervise the shift’s production efforts to meet published schedules.
  • Maintain a consistently safe work environment and personally demonstrate his/her commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Achieve consistent quality and high efficiency levels by optimum utilization of equipment and manpower.
  • Ensure efficient coordination and processing of a high volume of work orders and develop/maintain a very close and effective working relationship with all other departments.
  • Ensure production schedules are attained daily while meeting safety, cost and quality objectives.
  • Direct involvement with improving operating efficiencies, reducing costs, identifying unfavorable trends and taking timely corrective actions.
  • Monitor and review the performance of direct reports.
  • Hold employees accountable for maintaining inspection ready workplace at all times.
  • Ensure proper levels of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety and Housekeeping rules are maintained and that regulatory requirements are met at all times.

 

Other Key Responsibilities

  • Make adjustments to the operation according to the production schedule.
  • Review and adjust the production schedule where needed.
  • Own overall line preparation, including coordination of line mechanical set-ups and materials needed from Compounding and Warehouse Depts ensuring scheduled production line targets are met.
  • Coordinate production line material usage for packaging materials and batch formula to control material losses.
  • Ensure raw materials and finished product meet both customer and company manufacturing standards.
  • Work closely with Team Leaders.  Train, coach and develop them to become highly effective line leaders.

 

Education/Training Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred; Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years’ proven experience as Production Supervisor or similar role.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing utilizing 5S, Lean and CI concepts.
  • Must have advanced skills in MS Office
  • Must have organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated with a results-driven approach.

 

Physical Demands:

  • May occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.

 

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports to Production Manager
