Microbiologist

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or Biological Science

Key Duties: 

• Test raw materials and finished products for microbial contamination.
• Test water samples for chemical and microbial quality. 
• Validate all procedures used in the Micro Laboratory. 
• Analysis and approval of line samples. 
• Assist in production problems –trouble shooting.
• Provide assistance in training production personnel. 
• Perform stability testing on OTC production. 
• Perform housekeeping
• Participate in customer audits as needed
• May need to work weekends or extended hours to meet production needs.
• Participate in lab investigations
• Sample water and air samples on the production floor for environmental monitoring program

Experience Requirements: 

• Analytical thinking
• Strong science background.
• Time management skills
• Communication skills with team members and members of other departments
• Math skills (basic math and statistics)
• Technical writing skills
• The ability to multitask in a high paced work environment
