SUMMARY: As part of a leading global aerospace distributor, the Process Improvement Specialist is a subject matter expert for company processes and systems.  This is a key position in the organization with a deep understanding of all processes, serving as liaison between functional groups looking for bottlenecks, efficiency opportunities, and other areas of improvement.  This individual trains all new personnel on company systems, has discretion to make decisions on the company’s behalf, and works autonomously with a deep understanding of company goals and needs.  This individual has a dotted line supervisory role across all groups ensuring company processes are being followed, communicating to the Distribution group management team with recommendations for changes, improvements, training, updates, etc. of systems, processes and personnel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Eliminate single points of failure by developing the knowledge and skills of frontline workers in areas where additional expertise is needed such as in Hazmat/DG handling, importing/exporting, EAR & ITAR, ISO/ASA, forecasting and reporting, etc.
  • Support the development and enhancement of global management initiatives for enhancing team performance
  • Ensure workflows, processes, and procedures comply with company goals and objectives
  • Investigate and troubleshoot process issues to ensure lean operating practices are followed
  • Develop individual improvement plans and collaborate on corrective actions
  • Serve as internal auditor and coordinate with team leaders to ensure readiness for external auditors
  • Identify opportunities for advanced training to facilitate career progression and enrich the teams’ talents
  • Support department leaders in preparing instructional procedures, work allocations, building out on the job training models, and providing the corresponding training to ensure organizational success
  • Lead cross functional projects and efficiently utilize resources from each department
  • Communicate with other leaders to learn about implications of new projects/contracts and scope of involvement needed at the functional level
  • Review analytical reports of information such as logbooks, customer and vendor orders, gross margin analysis, and sales data to ensure team efficiencies are being met and develop processes with department leaders that support organizational goals
  • Work closely with other functions and their leaders, such as sales, operations, quality, and finance, to ensure both customer and company requirements are continuously met or exceeded
  • Strengthen communications between leaders and first line staff, ensuring process continuity across all functions
  • Collaborate with leaders in preparing cost estimate for training needs
  • Other duties assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 4+ year of relevant/technical work experience
    • or an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Strong understanding of ERP System and Reporting
  • Troubleshooting
  • Problem Solving
  • Training and Education of others
  • Proficiency using various software, mainly Microsoft Word and Outlook.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 7+ years of quality and compliance work experience
  • 2+ years of Aviation Experience
  • 6+ months of Component Control Quantum Experience
