SUMMARY:  The Operation Manager is responsible for various management, organization and planning tasks to maintain high performance of the warehouse’s receiving, storage, and shipment processes, including overseeing warehouse staff and working closely with other departments to coordinate warehouse activities. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Coaches, mentors, and develops staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. 

  • Manages the flow of work by overseeing work assignments, assessing individual and team performance, training, and performance management. 

  • Creates strategic plans aimed toward achieving operational objectives in the warehouse.  

  • Coordinates with Quality management and staff on the implementation of quality plans based around customer service objectivesIdentifies trends and initiates corrective actions. 

  • Forecasts requirements for warehouse expenditures, analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions in order to meet financial objectives of the warehouse. 

  • Develops, implements and evaluates warehouse operations systems based on product handling and storage requirements. Develops processes for receiving productutilizing equipment, managing inventory and shipping product.  

  • Develops and implements effective warehouse layout that accounts for product flow, equipment and product handling systems. 

  • Establishes, follows and enforces company safety policies and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment and legal requirements. This includes keeping a clean and organized warehouse stocked with the requisite supplies to do the job.  

  • Coordinates with managers and employees from other departments to make plans and review processes to ensure customer satisfaction and operational goals are being met. Makes recommendations for process improvements. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):   

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • 7 years of relevant/technical work experience and 4-7 years of leadership experience OR 

  • An additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree. 

  • Proven ability to communicate with customers and vendors properly and clearly. 

  • Experience with problem solving in a high stress environment  

  • Ability to handle multiple projects to meet goals and deadlines. 

  • Ability to develop sensible strategies and physical solutions for facilitating workflow, and efficiency in workspace. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and scheduling applications  

  • Able to coordinate the work and activities of others by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.  

  • Ability to travel as needed 

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.): 

  • Master’s degree 

  • 10+ years of operational work experience 

  • 4+ years of leadership experience 

  • 4+ years of aviation experience 

  • Experience preparing commercial invoices, filing AES, and knowledge of customs regulations and U.S. export rules and regulations. 

  • Knowledge of Quantum Control Software 

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9120 

  • Hazmat and Forklift certified
