What is the opportunity?

Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Enterprise Applications Database Administrator (DBA) will have the opportunity to support Water Mission departments in change management, system configurations, issue troubleshooting, and report development. This position will be responsible for responding to daily business needs for enterprise-level systems such as ERP, CRM, and SharePoint intranet administration, as well as compiling data into business reports. This is a full-time position that can be located in Charleston, SC, or remotely in the United States.

 

A successful Enterprise Applications DBA will: 

  • Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, donors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
  • Engage and participate in prayer before and after team meetings.
  • Lead and participate in biblically based staff devotions.
  • Manage, support, and maintain systems and reporting databases and integrations between them
  • Work with contracted developers and managed services providers to prioritize and implement improvements and configuration changes to business and enterprise systems.
  • Provide daily system administration support to departments for our enterprise-level systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Response Management (CRM), Asset Management, SharePoint Intranet, and related software or websites.
  • Manage and perform ETL to link data from multiple databases for reporting and operations.
  • Support data connections to source systems and manage automated imports and integrations into a data warehouse.
  • Proactively complete data verification procedures to ensure that reports are accurate and, when discrepancies occur, troubleshoot and resolve.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures and manage scheduled SQL jobs to ensure reports are properly updated.
  • Communicate with users to create design specifications for operational improvements. 
  • Configure user access to systems.
  • Provide first-level support for enterprise systems to users around the world.
  • Act as subject matter expert for projects requiring DBA activities.
  • Design, develop, and produce business reports from a variety of enterprise and business applications and data sources via reporting tools such asPowerBI.
  • Ensure that reports are visually professional, timely, relevant, accurate, interactive, fast, easy to understand, and simple to use.
  • Provide support for questions regarding the reports or the data behind them and provide direction for how to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Supports and maintains all aspects of the reporting tools and associated integration sources.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Management, or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced to expert-level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design, and integration.
  • Experience presenting and explaining data and metrics to a non-technical audience.
  • Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of SQLServer, Mongo DB, PowerBI, and Excel, with the ability to learn other analytical tools.
  • Broad experience with Financial, ERP, and CRM systems and associated data.
  • Committed to maintaining a high degree of integrity in all business activities and decisions.
  • Self-motivated; diplomatic; decisive; approachable; flexible; concern for long-term effectiveness.
  • Strong technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries and reports.
  • Strong attention to detail. This position is heavily focused on detailed analysis of data– requiring focused attention to detail for extended periods of time.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.  
  • Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities is required.
