Language skills: Spanish, Portuguese, are assets, though not required.

 

Description of program and training opportunities: Wayside Charlton Community Services serves a variety of people with serious emotional disturbances through community-based interventions: In-Home Therapy, Family Support and Stabilization, Therapeutic Mentoring and Youth Support.  We utilize Wraparound, Motivational Interviewing and strength-based models of care to see families not only in the office but also in their homes and provide family-centered and solution-focused treatment.

Internship Requirements:

6-9 month commitment
Intern must be available a minimum of 16 hours a week and is available work two evenings per week
A background in health and human services or related field preferred
Intern must have strong communication skills both written and verbal
Intern must be comfortable in a variety of settings including office, home visits and community meetings
Valid driver’s license required and working vehicle
CORI check and completion of Wayside’s Pre-service Orientation
Learn to perform intakes, assessments, treatment plans, follow up care and on-going treatment
Weekly attend and participate in staff meeting and intern seminar
Coordinate care for families and individuals including seeking other services and resources as well as collaborating with a variety of systems and providers
