Wharton-Smith, Inc., a highly regarded General Contractor based in Central Florida, is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Project Executive position for our Central Florida Business UnitThey will be responsible for overseeing the management and financial success of our projects. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain client relations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to multiple construction projects teams working on K-12, Municipal, Private, and various project types.
  • Develop team members through training, mentoring and coaching to maintain continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Marketing to identify and procure new projects.
  • Participate and advise upper management on developing new clients, client relations, project pursuits, and bid strategies.
  • Review and negotiate contract documents to be aware of contract requirements and deliverables.
  • Coordinate the interests of Wharton-Smith, the client and third parties involved to ensure fulfillment of the company’s contractual obligations and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain positive relationships with project team and promote cooperation and teamwork with common goals and expectations.
  • Coordinate, supervise and review work of assigned personnel and/or subordinates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide oversight of financial reports with project teams to ensure project success.
  • Help ensure that safety policy and practices are reviewed prior to the start of each new project and are implemented by each Project Manager and Superintendent.
  • Advanced knowledge of the construction industry to include various project type experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction process for all contract delivery systems used.
  • Ability to read and understand technical and statistical data, interpret construction drawings, architectural drawings and specifications, and legal documents.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a three-to five-year time span.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at a strategic level; sound judgment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or other closely related construction field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in construction, including estimating, project management, scheduling, cost control and personnel administration.
