The Wistar Institute is currently seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the HIV research team in the laboratory of Dr. Luis Montaner. The Montaner lab combines virological and immune system-based research through long-standing community partnerships and clinical trials research, along with using laboratory models of virus infection.

The laboratory focuses on patient cohort and animal models to:

  • regulation of innate immunity in HIV infection and on ART
  • identifying new mechanisms of immunodeficiency (and discovering new approaches to reverse them)
  • exploring new cure-directed strategies
  • use of humanized mouse model in HIV infection

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent (or be close to obtaining their doctoral degree) with a strong background in HIV virology, immunology, animal models, and molecular/cellular biology. Experience with molecular screening, bioinformatics, microscopy, and flow cytometry is a plus. Individuals eligible for National Research Service Award (NRSA) funding are highly desirable.
