POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The position’s main focus will be to spread awareness about the GOTR and STRIDE curriculum, build relations with your local community to promote site development, team/individual registration and volunteer opportunities, and ensure that all children have access to the program regardless of financial barriers at home.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure local site volunteers are trained properly and provided support as needed
  • Assist with delivery of supplies to team sites as needed.
  • Attend GOTR/STRIDE program management team (PMT) meetings monthly.
  • Enforce all current program practices.
  • Responsive to customer and volunteer needs in a timely and caring way.
  • Help schools to navigate the YMCA scholarship process.
  • Maintain excellent communication with site liaisons, volunteer coaches, and parents.
  • Assist with reaching branch Annual Campaign goals.
  • Recruit local volunteer coaches as needed in coordination with the GOTR Regional team.
  • Promote GOTR to potential schools and communities. Attend new school meetings, parent meetings, and assemblies as needed.
  • Conduct local site visits throughout the program season.
  • Build relationships with local volunteers, participants, and families through engagement opportunities such as community events, expos, and other YMCA programs.
  • Assist with all GOTR/STRIDE specific events.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school degree or its equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.
  • Two years of experience working in a recreational setting is preferred.
  • Experience in administration, including personnel management, budget development and control, supervision, curriculum and program planning is preferred.
  • Sound management skills of the various components of the position, including all supervision. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.
