Before & After School Counselor

YMCA Before & After School Counselors are role models for children aged 5-12 in the Y’s child care program. As a professional role model, you provide a place to belong and grow by facilitating positive behavior, having respect for diversity, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning and required training. 

Counselors supervise up to 18 children before and after the school day, ensuring their education, health, welfare, and safety by leading activities, promoting teamwork, building relationships, and adhering to licensing standards.

This job is for you if: 

1. Age 16 or older

2. Strong communication skills

3. Clear background check

4. Available to work before the school day starts or after the school day ends until 6 pm 

5. Ready to complete comprehensive training including child safety, leadership, activity facilitation, YMCA policies, and CPR/AED certifications
